easiest way to remove the stabilizer glued onto many blazers to recycle the woolen fabric for rug hooking.?
I recycle woolen garments for rug hooking. Many blazers have a stabilizing fabric glued onto the wool for the front of the jackets. I peel it off, but I hope there is an easier way. I already have used a mustache trimmer and razer blade.
I also recycle garments and have done some hooking and braiding. There are so many different stabilizers and they all behave differently…if it’s the nice rayon kind that just peels right off I might try, the others I use the fabric I can easily salvage and toss the rest. It’s not worth it to me to spend all the time on a project and have it be messed up by glue residue. I also don’t usually get jackets, the return on your work is so small…I prefer wool slacks & skirts.
