Custom Rugs – How To Design Your Own Rug
There are hundreds of designs available in area rugs today. These rugs were designed and colored by various designers and craftsmen and are meant to add decor and charm to any room. As beautiful as these area rugs are, there are times when clients wish to design their own rug or simply make a few changes to a particular rug. Custom rugs have become a desirable way to create the perfect rug for one’s room.
Custom rugs can be custom handmade or custom machine made rugs. I often have clients and decorators come in and fall in love with a particular rug yet they wish they can change a color or perhaps add silk where there is wool, etc. The custom rug lines we carry in our store allow us to mix and match or even add a new element to an existing design.
Custom rugs and carpets can also be made to compliment a client’s existing fabric. Although it is always best to start with the rug in a room, there are times when the colors are already in place and the rug is the last piece. In this case, a custom rug or carpet can tie it all together. One can create the perfect complimentary rug with a custom handmade Tibetan rug or a custom handmade persian design rug. Machine made and wall broadloom rugs and carpets are also available in custom rugs. Adding a custom border to a wool or sisal broadloom rug could be just the right touch to make your custom rug perfect for your decor.
